Before we read God's word and look at it together, let's pray. Heavenly Father, we come to you with just one simple request. This morning, we pray that you would show us Your glory. And we are bold to ask this, Lord, even as Moses did and received an answer from You. For we know that You delight to show Your people Your glory. And Lord, this is our heart's desire, Lord, to gaze upon the glory of God. And so, open our eyes, speak to us now, we pray, in Jesus' name, Amen.
Let us read together Psalm 23, a Psalm of David. "He leads me in … Continue reading...

Galatians Chapter 2:11-21
Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face because he was to be blamed. For before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them … Continue reading...

Galatians Chapter 2, and I'd like us to read verse 19 and verse 20 as we focus on verse 20 this morning. Galatians Chapter 2:19-20: "For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
As we near the end of chapter 2 this morning, we remember that last week we looked at the objection that is most commonl… Continue reading...
Galatians Chapter 2:11-21 tells us of a confrontation between the Apostle Paul and Peter. Now, when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face because he was to be blamed. For before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. We read in Galatians 2:15-17, "We who are Jews by nature and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not!"
Last week, we considered together the need f… Continue reading...

If you have your Bibles, please open them to Psalm 1. We'll actually be reading both Psalm 1 and 2 and looking at both Psalms together today. So let's read them now.
Psalm 1: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he d… Continue reading...

Let us turn to Galatians 2, beginning in verse 1:
"Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me. And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain. Yet not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in, who came in by stealth to spy out our l… Continue reading...

Galatians Chapter 1, and let us read together verse number 11 through verse number 24 this morning. The Word of God reads, "But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the Church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it. And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my ow… Continue reading...

I send him against a godless nation, I dispatch him against a people who anger Me, to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. But this is not what he intends, this is not what he has in mind; his purpose is to destroy, to put an end to many nations. 'Are not my commanders all kings?' he says. 'Has not Calno fared like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad, and Samaria like Damascus? As my hand seized the kingdoms of the idols, kingdoms whose images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria—shall I not de… Continue reading...
Galatians Chapter 1, I'll read verse one through to verse number ten, and consider this morning verse ten together. Galatians Chapter 1: Paul, an apostle not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead, and all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia: grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory foreve… Continue reading...
Let's turn in our Bibles to John Chapter 2. Thank you for having me this morning. Thank you for the warm welcome. It's really nice to be here. We've tried to organize me coming here for a while, but for one reason or another, it hasn't happened, but I'm able to be here this morning with my family, so it's wonderful to be here.
There's a number of familiar faces both from my own church and from elsewhere, so it's nice to see old friends, and of course, there are many people here I don't know as well. We've heard some good things of the… Continue reading...

This morning's text comes from 1 Corinthians 10, and we'll read from the first 13 verses of that chapter. 1 Corinthians 10—I apologize in advance; all of my notes are in the NIV from 1984, so if it sounds a little different to your Bible, that would be why, but I know no other version, so I'll be stuck with that one.
1 Corinthians 10, and I'll read from verse 1 through to verse 13: "For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They … Continue reading...
